Day Habilitation
AEI’s Day Habilitation Program offers medical, therapeutic and developmental supports that promote the ability of individuals with Developmental Disabilities to live more independently in everyday community settings.
In Inter-Disciplinary Team that includes a Registered Nurse, Speech Therapist and Developmental Specialists design individualized programs addressing the skills, knowledge and ability one needs to self-manage within one’s community. Medical monitoring; communication, physical and occu pational therapy; and habilitation services offer more active treatment that that available through out patient visits to hospitals and clinics for individuals who do not require hospitalization.
Developmental Skills Curricula address:
- Self Preservation and Safety Skill
- Communications Skills
- Activities of Daily Living
- Performing Tasks and other Activities
- Understanding Numbers and Time
- Reading and Writing Skills
- Money Management
Referrals to the Day Habilitation Program must be made through the Department of Mental Retardation (DMR) or Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC)
